Applying for Summer Financial AId

Here's what you need to know:
  • The Summer Aid application will be available March 2025.
  • Summer financial aid is based on the 2024-2025 aid year.
    • CSC must have your 2024-2025 FAFSA, along with any additional documents as required on your To Do list, prior to awarding any summer aid.
  • You must be enrolled for summer courses BEFORE you complete the Summer Aid Application.
    • Summer awards are determined by the eligibility the student has remaining in the 2024-2025 aid year.
      • If you accepted and used all of your aid eligibility during the Fall and Spring, you may not qualify for anything additional during the summer.
      • Students who qualify for Summer Pell may have additional consideration for Pell funding.
    • Only federal grants and federal loans are available during the summer. CSC scholarships and/or tuition waivers do not apply to summer courses.
    • Only degree-seeking students can qualify for federal student aid.

To Apply:

  • The Summer Aid Application will open March 2025.
  • Log into your MyCSC account
  • On the left hand navigation bar under Financial Aid, choose "Financial Aid Overview".  Then under Related Links Click on "Apply for Summer Aid".
    • You must be enrolled for Summer to complete the application.
    • You will be asked to indicate the number of hours you are enrolled in for the entire Summer Term. 
       
  • Processing financial aid for any term or session can take 3-4 weeks. Make sure to enroll in coursework and apply early. Payment for summer courses is due by the stated deadlines, regardless of the status of your financial aid.
     

  • If your enrollment changes after submitting the application, it is your responsibility to notify the START office at start@jdzruiran.com in advance so any necessary adjustments can be made. Failure to do so could result in financial penalty.

  • BOOK ADVANCE: Students who have enough financial aid to fully cover their summer account balance and will have remaining funds, can request a Book Advance by emailing start@jdzruiran.com. Please provide your full name and NUID number when making the request.
    • By utilizing the Book Advance, this charges the cost of your textbooks to your CSC bill, thus decreasing the amount of your refund after the financial aid is applied.

SUMMER PELL GRANT
If you currently receive Federal Pell Grant, you may qualify for the Summer Pell program. This program allows you to qualify for additional Pell funding for your summer courses. To be considered you must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours of required coursework and complete the Summer Aid Application.
