Josephine was born in Chadron, Nebraska on June 14, 1914. After graduating from Chadron State College, Josephine obtained employment with the U.S. Government in Denver, Colorado. She had no children of her own but she was a devoted aunt to 11 nieces and nephews, several of whom still live in the Chadron area.
